Home Away From Home
From June 15-July 11, 2007, I went back home to my daddy's hometown. We stayed most of the time in Cooperstown at Daddy's family homestead where he grew up. I guess that makes it my "home away from home". This was my second time to the USA. But this time everything was green because it is summer time. Wow. The world is such a big wide open space, isn't it? This is the valley where my daddy grew up and played when he was a little boy like me.
Here is me and Daddy in the back yard.
This is such a beautiful place. Living in a big, busy city like Tokyo, it is nice to be in the peaceful countryside and nature. I got to crawl on the grass and eat outside on the back porch.

Speaking of nature ... it was so nice to sit down by the creek with Mommy. You can see the big house in the back and the cottage where we stayed.
Moooooooo. Whoa. That's a real cow. This sure was a real nature experience for me.

My mommy took such good care of me and made me such yummy breakfast, lunch and dinner. I got to eat in the kitchen in the high chair.
Of course, I finally got to see American Grandma again. She is so funny and always makes me laugh. I love you Grandma!

New York City:
During my trip we also spent some time in New York City. We stayed with Uncle Patrick and Aunt Kimmy and their 2 cats, Madison and Mila. They were so nice and bought me a crib and high chair. I love you guys.
We stayed in their new apartment and I got to play with lots of fun toys donated by Kimmy's parents - including the classic Fisher-Price Farm House.
This was also my first time to ever ride in a swing. Wheeeeeeee!

While in NYC I bought a Brooklyn Rock N' Roll t-shirt and got to see Uncle Frank, Bambi, Sarah and Julia. Thats me with her and Uncle Pat.
I went to NYC's Central Park with Frank and Bambi and Mom and Dad. They took me to the famous old carousel. I got to ride with Daddy. It was scary at first - but eventually I warmed up to it.

Back to Cooperstown:
Here is me with my tree. Remember? Mom and Dad planted a tree for me the first time I visited when I was only 2.5 months old (in October 2006). See : "Rise of the Phoenix" - AND - See : Home Sweet Home
And look ... it is growing up big - just like me. Now everytime I go back home I can see how big my tree is growing.
Kimmy's Mom and Dad made a special trip to see me and cooked so much yummy food for everybody. Here is Bruce displaying his hand-carved wooden replica Kenzo Doll. Just kidding. It's me pretending to be a hand-carved wooden replica Kenzo Doll.
Holy Melons! I like it when they take me to the grocery store because I get to ride in the shopping cart. What is Daddy's obsession with Pizza Bites?

We all went to dinner one of our last nights at The Otesaga Hotel. I got to crawl around on the grass with the beautiful Glimmerglass lake in the background.
Eventually we had to say goodbye and head back to my other home in Japan. I had so much fun though. Thank you Daddy and Mommy.
All packed up and ready to fly back to Japan.
I also went to the Fly Creek Cider Mill - like 4 times. I will save that stuff for another update.
Special Thank you to Uncle Dan and Uncle Barown for being so loving and caring. Thanks to everyone for all the birthday presents. It was so nice to see all of my friends in The States. I love you all. See you next year! -- Kenzo
