Home Coming

After the standard one-week stay in the hospital, Mother and Baby made their homecoming. On Friday, July 21, Hiro-Mama and Kenzo-kun came home to our quaint "mansion" in Hills of Magome. Kenzo's tatami room was all ready for his arrival, after some last minute cleaning up by Daddy.

Our little son is a peaceful, healthy and happy child. Under his mother's knowing, graceful and tender loving care, he is calmly transitioning to life at home. He is such a quiet baby and he sleeps through all of Daddy's clumsy noise. Kenzo is such a beautiful baby. We just can't get enough of him. Today was his 1-week Birthday anniversary. Mommy and Daddy sang to him his first "happy birthday" lullaby.

Saturday night was Kenzo's first bath. He loved the familiar feeling of the warm water bath and endulged in the experience. Hiroko continues to be the most amazing mother. She is so good at everything and makes it seem so easy and natural. I certainly lack her Audrey Hepburn-inspired grace.

Oka-san, Oto-san and Shintaro have all stopped by our apartment to spend time with little K. Ferdinand. Yuko, Guy and Joshua arrive tonight - right about ... now. We will spend lots of time with them over their 3 week return visit to Tokyo. And lots of family photos, no doubt. And today is Yuko's Birthday!
A special thank you to all of Kenzo's loyal fans out there who have written to express their loving thoughts to the 3 of us. We will do our best to thank you all personally. Thank you Mom. Thank you Patrick and Kimmy. Thank you Frank and Pearl and Julia. Thank you Uncle Zack and Aunt Ann. Thank you Chausey and Jennifer. Thank you Leonie and Samantha. Thank you Bruce and Ginny. Thank you Aaron and Sarah. Thank you Payal. Thank you Clay and Miriam. Thank you David. Thank you Eric, Laura, Henning and Sig. Thank you Greg and Tom and Baci. Thank you to the my entire Crew from Boston - you know who you are!

Of course, we will attempt to keep Kenzo's blog fresh to keep you all satisfied. Thusly, I present another video for your viewing pleasure.
Stay tuned to the blog to follow our adventure. As my Jedi Master Mr. David Lee so elequently wrote, "Your Tour Guide Has Arrived." Lead the way, son.
